Shutdown Coordinator
An international E&P Operating Company looking to recruit a Shutdown Coordinator to work on a rotational basis in Algeria. This is a consultant contract opportunity offered on an annual / renewal contract basis.
Job Summary:
The Shutdown Coordinator is responsible for the development of fully integrated shutdown plans, working closely with HSE, to ensure safe and efficient long-term planning and execution. The role is responsible for preparing, reviewing and updating spares, consumables, and materials requirements for all static and rotating equipment. Duties also include managing external service providers throughout planned shutdowns to ensure safe and effective working.
Required Experience:
·Significant experience within Maintenance Management, Process Engineering, upstream or downstream in the oil and gas or Petrochemicals industries.
·Experience in a similar role overseeing the development of maintenance plans and associated maintenance execution.
·Experience in the management of shutdown activities and management of a 500 to 1000-person contractor influx to perform a shutdown in under one month with 2 years of planning.
·Fluent written and spoken English. French language skills would be beneficial.
·Experience with working in a multi-national / multi-cultural work environment would be beneficial.
·Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
Essential Job Functions:
Shutdown Preparation
·To develop and recommend the overall shutdown strategy and coordinate the preparation of the shutdown schedule both for long-term planning and preparation, and efficient execution.

To direct and monitor shutdown-related departmental plans and schedules.
To ensure that shutdown plans are suitably integrated to minimize the shutdown duration, while focusing on safe execution of work.
To ensure that all activity Work Packs are developed, reviewed and approved in accordance with internal guidelines.
To coordinate and drive the mobilization and availability of all shutdown-related labor (including contractor personnel), plant, equipment and logistics resources to deliver shutdown on-time and to budget.
Mentor national/local staff to develop leadership skills and experience within shutdown planning and execution activities.

Job Description
Commissioning Superintendent is responsible for the control & administration of all elements relating to the testing & validation process for High Integration Equipment, ensuring that it is implemented according to design specifications, standards, Company Policy and Quality Management system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure equipment is installed and operates as per the manufacturers' specifications.
Ensure that all aspects of the commissioning process are documented, approved and recorded for future reference as required.
Prepare and deliver schedules/reports/presentations for management as required.
Mentor the Project Engineers providing guidance to resolve identified operational issues.
Lead the development of Testing & Commissioning Procedures managing the implementation.
Evaluate technical & operational recommendations and manage the change according to guidelines & parameters set by Executive Management.
Work closely with HSE to engineer out potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment, for all employees.
Communicate and negotiate with a wide range of project stakeholders.
Closely analyze the commissioning expenditure in accordance with the approved budget.
Supervise documentation & certification requirements during project execution and ensure the process is in accordance with IMI Document Control Policy & Procedure.
Utilize knowledge of asset management standards ISO 55000/1/2 and implement during the project execution phase as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
Holding technical Qualification such as Diploma or Bachelor in Mechanical, Electrical , or Marine Engineering
15 years of experience in min 5 years in project execution role ( Commissioning ) in shipbuilding, oil & gas or equivalent industry.
Overall 10 years of industry experience
Ability to manage large multi-disciplinary teams, across a broad range of technologies
English will be the primary form of communication, willingness to learn another language would be an advantage
Demonstrates ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical, well thought out manner without the need to resort to authority
Well-developed presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills
proficient with Microsoft Office suite and at least a PM tool such as MS Project or Primavera.
